Explore, Discover, Play and Create
As children we knew instinctively how to play. We were free to explore, make believe, and
create. We could take an old stick and create a magic wand to turn mice into horses, a sword
to slay the fire breathing dragon, or a baton to lead the marching band in the parade. What happened?
Play is a breath of fresh air, heart pounding, wind in your hair, sand in your toes, smell
of crayons and play-dough, and a smile so big your eyes squint and your cheeks hurt. Play
is the opportunity to let your left brain relax and the right brain to kick back in and rediscover,
reconnect and rejuvenate you. Play is the avenue that is a high speed GPS (Genuine, Pleasurable,
Simple) to assist you in relocating the real you, the true you; your TRUE REFLECTION.
Play can reduce stress, inspire creativity and open new doorways to your future.
Messy Painting
Messy Painting is partially based on the Creativity Mobilization Technique developed by Wolfgang Luthe
and further explored and developed by Virginia Barclay Goldstein in her book The Magic of Mess Painting.
There truly is a kind of ‘magic’ that happens when you explore the world of your unconscious, your
visual perception of color, patterns, shapes and textures. Let yourself go, be free to play, reflect
and discover. Release stress, emotional distress, build your confidence and increase your self-awareness.
How does it work
The exposure of your eyes and brain to bright colors connecting and correlating with the physical motion
of the actual Messy Painting, stimulates your emotion and memory. The doorway is open wide for you to
explore, discover, and rediscover.
Messy Painting Goals
- 15 – 20 paintings in each session – trust your body; it will tell you when you are through.
- Cover each double-page of newspaper surface within two minutes, with the biggest mess possible.
- Let your emotions chose the color and the pattern – let your unconscious be your guide.
- The stimulus comes from within – no outside distractions i.e. music, friends, conversation etc.
- Adequate release of expression through laughing, singing, crying, aggression, grunting, talking,
swearing or motor (physical) discharges.
- Do not end too soon. Paint until the emotions subside. Stay with it – be present. Float in the
pleasure of freedom and creativity, lean into the fear, anger or pain, or be open to the spirit
rising within you.
- The release of your own organic pattern of repetition.
- The True Reflection of You.
The number one goal is to be True to You… Be TAO Transparent Authentic and Open – there you will see
your True Reflection.

Messy Painting Sessions and Packages
Each Session equates to 2 appointments. The first is 2 hours …using paint, brush and paper, you will internalize
a process that leads to increased self-awareness, self-confidence, emotional release, stress relief and expanded
creativity. You may experience, excitement, exaltation, ecstasy and anger as the energy moves through you.
You’ll never be the same again. The second is 1 hour for follow-up review and reflection coaching in which you
will also be picking-up your paintings.

*Sit with a nice hot cup of tea or refreshing beverage and reflect on your experience.
| Follow-Up Review and Coaching |

With multiple session packages, the follow-up appointment can be scheduled back to back with the
next painting session if desired.
Sessions continue to build upon the previous, continuing to explore and move forward through ideas, emotions,
and awareness that are brought to the surface. Each session can stand on its own merits but the continuity
and progress will enable you to go deeper and further than you ever imagined. Magic really happens as you let
your subconscious flow with your creative energy.
